BMW launches i7 M70 xDrive electric sedan in India, 686 km range

BMW has launched its new electric sedan in the Indian market, combining luxury with high performance. The company has launched the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, a powerful electric sedan from its 7-Series family, at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.65 crore. Along with premium features, the car is known for sports car-like performance. Bookings for the car have started at BMW dealerships across the country, and deliveries will begin from October 2026.

In terms of design, the car has an aggressive and striking look. It features BMW's Iconic Glow Kidney Grille at the front, with dark illumination and the M logo. It also gets Iconic Glow Crystal Headlights with a smoke-black crystal finish. New M Exterior Mirrors, Black High-Gloss Seahorse Stripes and a wide rear diffuser add to the sporty look, while a Black Sapphire rear spoiler gives the exterior a sporty touch.

The cabin also offers a distinct luxury experience, with BMW Individual Merino Leather Upholstery, CraftedClarity Glass Applications and a Panoramic Glass Roof Sky Lounge. The front and rear seats get ventilation, heating, massage and lumbar support. Rear passengers get Executive Lounge Seating, where the seat can recline up to 43 degrees. Gap-Free Calf Support and heel rest are also provided to make long journeys comfortable.

On the technology front, the car features BMW Panoramic Vision, a Head-Up Display and a 17.9-inch Free-Cut Central Touchscreen. It runs on BMW Operating System X. Rear passengers get a 31.3-inch Ultra-Wide 8K BMW Theatre Screen, along with a Bowers and Wilkins 35-speaker, 1965-watt Diamond Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos.

The car has a 112.5kWh battery. According to the company, it can deliver a range of up to 686 km on a single charge under the WLTP cycle. With a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, the car produces up to 1100Nm of torque. Despite being a heavy luxury sedan, it accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. The car's top speed is 250 kmph.

Thanks to engineering from BMW's M Division, the car has a special focus on performance. It features M-Specific Adaptive 2-Axle Air Suspension, rear-axle steering and Adaptive M Chassis Control Professional. It also gets M Launch Control and M Sport Brakes with Black High-Gloss calipers. The car rides on 21-inch M Light-Alloy Wheels.

On safety, the car offers Parking Assistant Professional, a surround view camera and Reversing Assistant Professional. Remote parking via smartphone is also available. It also comes with safety systems such as Driving Assistance Plus, Lane Change Warning, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning, Active Protection and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

The car comes with a 2-year standard warranty. The battery carries an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty. Customers also get 24x7 roadside assistance for 2 years. BMW Service Inclusive options are also available, allowing customers to extend the warranty up to 10 years as per their needs.
