Traffic changes in Mumbai for Angarki Sankashti, odd-even parking at Worli

The Mumbai traffic department has introduced odd-even parking on G.M. Bhosale Marg in the Worli area until December. The road, running from Prakash Kurne Chowk to Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli Naka), is considered an important and necessary stretch in the Worli traffic zone. Meanwhile, ahead of Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi, temporary traffic changes have also been made at five different locations in Dadar to manage the crowds of devotees expected there.

According to police, a temporary 24-hour no-parking rule along with date-wise odd-even parking has been introduced on this road to regulate traffic and prevent haphazard parking. The change came into effect from midnight of September 20 and will remain in force until midnight of December 18. The odd-even parking rule will apply on both the southern and northern sides of G.S. Bhosale Marg, and will apply to all types of vehicles regardless of ownership.

On the day of Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi, large crowds of devotees usually gather on Swatantryaveer Savarkar Marg, S.K. Bole Road, Gokhale Road (both south and north), Kakasaheb Gadgil Marg, Sayani Road and Appasaheb Marathe Marg, all of which fall under the Dadar traffic division, directly and heavily affecting traffic on these roads. To ease this crowd pressure and manage traffic, changes have been made on all these roads between 6 pm and midnight on September 29.

Since September 29 is Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi, a very large turnout of devotees is expected at Shree Siddhivinayak Temple and the surrounding area. This is expected to cause heavy traffic congestion in the area. Keeping this in mind, the traffic police have taken steps to regulate traffic on the roads in the area in advance, and special arrangements will be deployed to manage the crowds and congestion.
