Wardha police hold anti-drug awareness drive at Bajaj College

The Wardha district police team has taken a serious view of the rising use of narcotics, particularly among the youth, who are increasingly falling into this dangerous addiction with harmful effects on their health, families and society. Police said that drug use not only damages a person's physical and mental health but also fuels criminal tendencies.

As part of the Drugs Free Wardha campaign, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Wardha, held an anti-drug awareness programme at Bajaj Science College, Wardha, on September 16, 2026. The programme was based on the idea of "Drugs Free Wardha", aimed at building a safe future and a drug-free society.

An NDPS Awareness video prepared by the Wardha district police team was screened on the occasion. A PPT presentation was also used to explain the harmful effects of narcotics. Psychiatrist Dr Sonone, Wardha Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sunil Mahadik and Local Crime Branch, Wardha, Police Inspector Vinod Chaudhary guided the students present on the dangers of drug use. Keeping in mind the safety of the college's girl students, Damini Pathak chief Madhuri Waghade also offered guidance. The programme concluded with a group rendition of the national song.

Through the programme, students were given the message to give up drugs, embrace life and build a cultured society, making Wardha drug-free. Wardha police appealed to all students to stay away from drug use in order to make Wardha city progressive, safe and strong.

The anti-drug awareness (Drugs Free Wardha) programme was organised under the guidance of Wardha Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agrawal and Wardha Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare. The programme was attended by Local Crime Branch, Wardha, Police Inspector Vinod Chaudhary, Sub-Inspector Madhuri Waghade, other police officers and staff, the college principal and the entire teaching staff, and a large number of college students.
