India tells UN: dismantle entire network that shelters terrorists, targets al-Qaeda and LeT

India has once again cornered Pakistan on terrorism from the platform of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Naming al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), infamous terrorist organisations that have caused devastation around the world, India called them "monsters of humanity". India said that if peace and security are to be maintained in the world, killing terrorists alone will not be enough; the entire network that shelters them and props them up must be uprooted. India placed this forceful appeal before the entire global community.

India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, speaking at the Security Council meeting, recalled the horrific 9/11 terror attack. He said clearly that after 9/11 the world fought terrorism together, but the network of organisations like al-Qaeda did not remain confined to Afghanistan's borders. These terrorist organisations moved beyond Afghanistan and firmly established themselves in Pakistan, where they found shelter under the patronage of the country's rulers and army. India made this direct point in its address.

Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish specifically mentioned the key figures behind the 9/11 conspiracy. He said that these criminals, who spread terror across the world, were not hiding as fugitives in some remote hilly area or in caves. Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks and head of al-Qaeda, was living in a heavily secured, fortified mansion in Abbottabad, Pakistan, near a military garrison. The United States killed him there in "Operation Neptune Spear".

Besides this, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who planned the strategy for this horrific conspiracy, was found hiding in a private apartment in an urban area of Pakistan. Ramzi bin al-Shibh, who coordinated the entire operation despite being denied a visa to join the group of hijackers, was also moving about openly in an urban settlement in Pakistan. This evidence makes clear how Pakistan kept these dangerous terrorists safe on its soil while deceiving the world.

India said clearly that the same areas which gave years of state patronage to the masterminds of 9/11 are the areas from which organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed are spreading their network today. These terrorists continue to use the same network to carry out violent attacks in India and around the world. India firmly stated that real peace cannot be established in the world without uprooting this entire network that nurtures terrorism and harbours such barbaric thinking. India's clear and direct stance has once again exposed Pakistan's hypocrisy and its support for terrorism on the international stage.
