Real-life version of Vikrant Massey's 'Musafir Cafe' takes shape in the hills
First images emerge of a real 'Musafir Cafe', inspired by Vikrant Massey's series, under construction in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
National Award-winning actor Vikrant Massey's popular series 'Musafir Cafe' is set to move beyond the screen and into real life. Work is underway to build 'Musafir Cafe' at two locations, in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, and a picture of one of the cafes under construction has now surfaced. The first glimpse of the cafe, being built amid the mountains, has excited fans.
The project is being developed under Vikrant Massey's own production company, Homemade Stories. Alongside acting, he is now also moving into production and building such experience-based spaces.
Construction is currently underway at both the Himachal and Uttarakhand sites, with the design inspired by the cafe shown in the series. The attempt is to make the space, built to suit the mountain surroundings, feel as warm and inviting as the 'Musafir Cafe' from the series.
Another feature of the project is an artist residency. The complex will have 20 rooms for artists to stay in, giving them a place to live as well as space for their creative work. This means 'Musafir Cafe' will not be limited to just a cafe, but is also being developed as a distinct space for artists.
The photo that has surfaced shows a glimpse of the construction in progress, with stone-and-wood architecture being used to suit the mountainous terrain. The effort is to recreate the look and feel of the cafe seen in the series at this real location. Along with the cafe, the artist residency rooms will also be part of the same complex.
The concept of 'Musafir Cafe' is tied to the story of the series itself. In the series, Vikrant Massey played the character of Chandar, who settles in the mountains to pursue his dreams and begins a new journey around his cafe. The cafe was an important part of Chandar's journey and the show's story. Now, this fictional world from the series is emerging as a real-life place.
Both these 'Musafir Cafe' locations, coming up amid the scenic natural surroundings of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, are an attempt to connect the world of the series with real life.
