Maharashtra board announces 2027 Class 10, 12 exam schedule

Important news has come for Class 10 and 12 students in the state. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced the examination schedule for the 2026-27 academic year. Board secretary Dr Deepak Mali announced the exam dates in Mumbai on Thursday, September 17.

The Class 12 written examination will be held from February 8 to March 16, 2027. The Class 12 practical, oral and grade examinations will be held from January 20 to February 6, 2027. This means Class 12 students will first face practical and oral exams, followed by the written exams about two weeks later.

The Class 10 written examination will be held from February 15 to March 11, 2027. The Class 10 practical, oral and grade examinations will be held from January 28 to February 13, 2027. The schedules for both Class 10 and Class 12 follow nearly the same structure, with practicals first and written exams afterward.

The final Class 10 and 12 examinations will be conducted through nine divisional boards across the state: Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur and Konkan. Exams for students across the state will be held through these nine divisional boards.

Every year, a provisional exam schedule is usually announced in July or August. This year, however, the dates have been announced in September. The board said the schedule was announced early so that students would have enough time to plan their exams and studies. In other words, despite the later announcement, the aim was to give students more time for planning, the board clarified.

Class 10 and 12 results are usually declared by the end of May or in the first week of June. For students who have failed or wish to improve their marks, a supplementary examination is usually held in the third week of July, giving them another opportunity.
