Man beheads sleeping wife over suspicion in Hardoi, then surrenders to police
A man in Hardoi allegedly beheaded his sleeping wife with a knife over suspicion of infidelity, then walked into a police station and confessed to the killing.
A shocking incident has come to light from Hardoi, where a man who suspected his wife's character slit her throat with a knife and killed her while she was in deep sleep. In a startling turn, after severing his wife's head from her body, the accused husband walked to the police station himself and confessed to the crime. News of the incident caused an uproar in the entire area.
The incident took place in the Islamnagar Tilia locality of the Kotwali Shahar area of Hardoi. At around 1:30 am, a man named Parvez killed his 30 year old wife Naghma. Parvez suspected that Naghma was having an illicit relationship with someone else. Acting on this suspicion, he attacked the sleeping Naghma with a knife and severed her head from her body. After carrying out the crime, Parvez shut the door of the house and went straight to the police station, where he confessed before police personnel that he had killed his wife.
Police personnel were stunned to hear this from the accused. They rushed to the spot, where Naghma's body was found in a badly mutilated state.
In a separate incident, a woman who had been missing for a few days from the Rameshwar Colony area of the city was found dead in the Padmalaya forest area, causing a sensation. The deceased has been identified as Kavita Arun Mistry. Her body was found in the forest area on September 13. Initial investigation suggests she was killed by a blow to the head with a stone. Police have taken Naresh alias Aaba Anil Sonawane into custody in connection with the case.
In another case, a 25 year old woman has alleged that she was sexually exploited for about two and a half years after being lured with a promise of marriage. According to the complaint, the accused had promised to divorce his wife and marry the woman, but when she pressed him to marry her, he beat her and refused to marry her. Based on her complaint, a case of fraud and rape has been registered at the Cidco police station against Vaneshwar Fakirrao Pandit, who runs a salon and is a resident of Pisadevi.
