Disha Salian's father sends Rs 500 crore defamation notice to Aditya Thackeray, Anil Deshmukh

The case of the suspicious death of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has taken a new turn. Disha's father Satish Salian has sent a legal notice directly to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLA Aditya Thackeray and former home minister Anil Deshmukh.

In the notice, Satish Salian has asked both leaders to tender an unconditional public apology within 7 days, warning that if they fail to do so they will face serious legal action.

The notice seeks Rs 500 crore from Aditya Thackeray and Anil Deshmukh as defamation. It also states that the unconditional apology the two leaders must issue will have to be published in all major newspapers, TV news channels and digital media.

In the notice, Satish Salian has directly alleged that Aditya Thackeray misrepresented his fight for justice for his daughter by calling it politically motivated. In the Disha Salian case, Aditya Thackeray's lawyers had claimed that the CBI had already investigated the matter and given a clean chit. But on 2 September 2026, the CBI told the Bombay High Court clearly that it had never conducted any such investigation earlier.

Former home minister Anil Deshmukh had said on 23 March 2025 that the entire matter was a conspiracy to defame Aditya Thackeray. The notice states that this statement dealt a major blow to Satish Salian's social standing, credibility and character. Satish Salian says the allegations made by both leaders are completely false, defamatory and misleading.

The notice also states that the Bombay High Court had ordered the registration of an FIR and a CBI investigation on Satish Salian's petition. It states clearly that if all the demands are not met within the next 7 days, other strict legal steps will be taken along with a claim for civil damages. Satish Salian has also said he reserves the full right to pursue criminal action under Section 356 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in the defamation case.
