Nagpur: A case has been registered at Sitabuldi Police Station after a 36-year-old woman allegedly accused a man of repeatedly sexually assaulting her on the promise of marriage. The complaint also alleges threats, abusive language and demands for money.

According to police, the woman had married in 2008, but her husband died in 2022. She was subsequently living with her daughter at her mother’s house.
During this period, she reportedly became acquainted with Shubham Praful Jaiswal through Facebook. The woman has alleged that Jaiswal promised to marry her and subsequently had sexual relations with her on multiple occasions.
Allegations of Threats and Demands for Money
The complainant alleged that when she asked Jaiswal to marry her, he began avoiding the issue. She further alleged that he threatened her over the phone, abused her and demanded money.
One of the alleged incidents reportedly took place at a hotel in Dharampeth.
Police Begin Investigation
Based on the woman’s complaint, Sitabuldi Police have registered a case against Jaiswal under relevant sections, including those related to rape, criminal intimidation and abuse. Police have launched an investigation into the allegations.
The accused is reportedly employed as a waiter at a bar in the Sitabuldi area.
