According to a complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the teacher struck her daughter on the hand and back with a stick, causing swelling and injury.
The mother claimed the family approached the girl’s class teacher and school management after the incident but there was no appropriate response.
The Kadugondanahalli resident alleged her daughter had faced similar treatment on three previous occasions.
A case has been registered under BNS Section 118 (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) at Devarajeevanahalli police station.
A senior officer said the teacher admitted to have beaten up the girl after she was caught fighting with a student in class. Police issued a notice to the teacher and are investigating further.
