A woman police constable and three ministerial staffers attached to the city police commissioner’s office were kept under suspension on alleged charges of leaking information in connection with the proposed five commissionerates for Bengaluru city.
The accused have been identified as constable Vanita, section superintendent Shankar, second division assistant Suhas and first division assistant Bhavya. According to sources, the four were held guilty of circulating the proposal that was generated from the office of police commissioner.
“The four were in charge of sending the soft copy of the proposal to the office of director general and inspector general of police for further official communication. However, one of them downloaded the soft copy of the proposal and transferred the same to his mobile. He later shared it with others, who in turn circulated it to outsiders. This was against the guidelines and they have been kept under suspension on charges of dereliction of duty,” the sources said.
