Notorious Criminal Stabbed to Death Near Narendra Nagar Bridge

Nagpur : A sensational murder took place in Nagpur on Thursday evening, involving two police station jurisdictions. A 25-year-old man, identified as Gaurav Pankaj Ragde, was allegedly stabbed to death near Narendra Nagar Bridge following a dispute over plans to start a restaurant.

The accused, Gaurav Rambhau Raut, allegedly fled the spot after the attack but was chased for around 1.5 kilometres by a police constable and arrested. Police also recovered the knife allegedly used in the crime.

Dispute Over Restaurant Plans

According to police, Raut and Ragde’s wife were planning to start a restaurant named ‘Cloud Kitchen’ near Chhatrapati Chowk. As part of the plan, Raut had reportedly rented a room in the area. Ragde allegedly came to know about their meetings and was upset over the matter.

On Thursday, Ragde reportedly went to the rented room, where Raut was allegedly drinking alcohol with some friends. Police said that Ragde allegedly abused Raut and damaged property inside the room, including breaking glass. This reportedly led to a physical altercation between the two.

Multiple Stab Wounds Near Bridge

During the confrontation, Ragde allegedly tried to flee from the spot. Raut reportedly chased him. When Ragde fell near Narendra Nagar Bridge, Raut allegedly attacked him multiple times with a knife, leaving him critically injured.

At the same time, Ajni police personnel Manish Bhalme and Naresh Sawankar were patrolling the area. After receiving information about the incident, they rushed to the spot. While Bhalme remained at the scene, Sawankar chased the fleeing suspect.

After pursuing him for approximately 1.5 kilometres, Sawankar managed to catch Raut. Police recovered the knife allegedly used in the murder from his possession.

Police Inspector Nitinchandra Rajkumar reached the spot with his team after being informed about the incident. Police conducted a spot panchnama and sent the deceased’s body to Government Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police said the initial dispute took place within the jurisdiction of Ajni Police Station, while the fatal stabbing occurred within the jurisdiction of Beltarodi Police Station. Therefore, the murder case has been registered at Beltarodi Police Station.

Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder and examining the possible role of other individuals in the incident.
