6 Grams of MD Seized, Accused Arrested in Nagpur

Nagpur: The crackdown on drug trafficking in Nagpur continues, with Ganeshpeth Police arresting an e-rickshaw driver who was allegedly looking for customers to sell MD powder. Police seized 6 grams of MD powder, a mobile phone and an e-rickshaw, with the total value of the seized material estimated at over ₹1 lakh.

Police Lay Trap Behind Wine Shop

According to police, a Ganeshpeth Police investigation team was patrolling the area on Thursday morning when they received confidential information that a person would arrive behind Kalpana Wine Shop at Cotton Market in an e-rickshaw to sell MD powder.

Acting on the information, police laid a trap at the location. Shortly afterwards, a man matching the description arrived in an e-rickshaw. Police detained him and conducted a search.

The accused was identified as Amol Bhaurao Gaikwad, a resident of Chilna Pachgaon in Kuhi.

6 Grams of MD Recovered

During the search, police recovered approximately 6 grams of MD powder from the accused. A mobile phone and the e-rickshaw used by him were also seized.

According to police, the accused was allegedly preparing to sell the MD powder for financial gain. Ganeshpeth Police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act and arrested the accused.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
