Nagpur: Happy Feet Kindergarten organised a unique experiential learning programme, “Pet Day – Let’s Get Pawsitive!”, on August 22, offering young children an opportunity to interact closely with a variety of friendly pets while learning the values of empathy, kindness and responsible animal care.

The event was organised in collaboration with Pets n Ponds – Grooming Salon & Pet Store and aimed to introduce children to the importance of treating animals with love, compassion and respect through hands-on learning experiences.

The school campus buzzed with excitement as students met and interacted with a wide range of pets, including fish, ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, lovebirds, cockatiels and hamsters. Under the guidance and supervision of trained handlers and teachers, the children observed the animals, gently petted them, fed them and learned about their habits and care.

Beyond the excitement, the event served as an engaging educational activity that encouraged children to develop empathy, sensitivity and a deeper understanding of the needs of living beings. Teachers explained the importance of responsible pet ownership and caring for animals with patience and kindness.

Parents also participated enthusiastically and appreciated the initiative, describing it as a memorable real-life learning experience that allowed children to connect with nature and animals in a safe and enjoyable environment.

School authorities said the programme reflected Happy Feet Kindergarten’s commitment to experiential learning, where children are encouraged to explore, observe and learn beyond the traditional classroom setting. They added that ‘Pet Day – Let’s Get Pawsitive!’ successfully combined fun with meaningful education, leaving students with lasting memories and valuable life lessons on compassion and responsibility.
